Geography has paid special attention to rural urbanization through studying villages, dwellings, distribution patterns, and factors influencing human settlement, in addition to studying urban urbanization represented by cities in terms of their origin, development, functions, and role in interacting with the surrounding environment. The research also reviews the historical paths of the development of cities from ancient times to the modern era, while stating the factors influencing their growth.
