The study focused on the importance of involving citizens, civil society organizations, and the private sector in environmental planning, implementation, and monitoring processes, based on successful international experiences in this field. It also addresses the factors that affect the effectiveness of community participation, such as the legal framework, environmental awareness, and institutional capabilities. The study also relied on the descriptive analytical approach, in addition to the comparative approach to study successful international experiences in promoting community participation in managing environmental issues. The study concluded with a number of results, the most important of which was that laws that do not enhance transparency or do not include mechanisms for community participation limit the possibility of achieving real sustainability in resource management. It also proved through experiments that the use of technology and digital platforms contributes to improving the opportunities for individuals to participate in formulating environmental policies and making decisions.
